|Recommended: YesTwo thumbs up — You should consider living at the Villas, the rent is cheap, the apartments are nice, and the staff are amazing
Thanks so much, Aubrey! This community is AMAZING, and we're grateful to be a part of it!!
|Recommended: NoSome pros and some cons — The electric bills can be rather pricy and the smell outside is absolutely horrendous. There is a nearby sewage plant that causes the smell. I was not aware of this when I agreed to live at this location. The inside is very nice aside from the normal wear and tear of a rented unit wall scuff marks, stains on carpet .
Thank you so much for your review! We agree that the water treatment facility has been challenging this year as they were upgrading the facility and the waste was uncovered. The good news is that the facility has received its final part for the new processing equipment, and the smell has been mitigated :) Electricity can be expensive, especially during cold Pennsylvania winters. To help, residents can follow tips provided by West Penn Power, such as only using cold wash cycles for laundry, not using the drying cycle on the dishwasher, and being sure the HVAC fan is set to "auto" instead of "on." We're certainly glad that you enjoy the units, and we hope that with the smell mitigated that the rest of your time with us is a pleasant one :)
|Recommended: YesAffordable place to live — Villas is very affordable to live in. The one downside is the size of the rooms and the lack of storage space. Walls are very thin and can easily hear all neighbors. There is also a bad smell that lingers through the property on occasion.
Thank you, Haley! We are excited to have the work being done by the Joint Authority coming to a close soon, which will eliminate the smell. We love having a convenient and affordable community for our residents :)

Thank you so much, Mira. We love the community at The Villas at Happy Valley :)
|Recommended: YesLove it — If I wasn't graduating this year, I would definitely stay for another year. The price is perfect for the accommodations and convenience with the bus route and stores nearby. I paid 300 more last year and had a smaller room, shared a bathroom, and had a kitchen with outdated appliances. The Villas is the exact opposite of this and being 10 minutes away from campus allows me to escape the hustle and bustle when I need to but have easy access when I want it I really love living here
It's so nice to hear back from our resident guests that we're delivering on our promise at The Villas at Happy Valley! Congratulations on the next steps you're taking, Kristine! We love having you in our community :)

|Recommended: YesFine — sometime the whole places get smelly
Thank you so much for your review. The five stars for all categories are great, and they show that we're showing our care for the community. The smell is unfortunate. Due to some working being completed by the University Area Joint Authority on the local water treatment plant, the waste composting has been uncovered for much of the Summer and into this Fall. We have spoken with the UAJA, and they have assured us that the work will be completed in November, and the smell will abate. We'll all be able to breathe a sigh of relief when the work is completed. For more information on the project, and to enter a complaint in regards to the smell, you can visit the University Joint Authority Website.
